Talk Show hosts: Politics, current events, sports, relationships...

Sports: Play-by-play... color... sportstalk. A growing radio format.

Production: Radio's commercial voices and creative writers.

Promotion: The fun & games department. Contest & event marketing.

Sales

Our only revenue generating business is advertising. Sales Account Executives are usually the highest paid employees, on a commission basis-often out-earning management!

Engineering

There is currently a shortage of qualified Broadcast Engineers!

Administrative

Office Manager: Accounting, bookkeeping & office supervision

Receptionists & Secretaries: general office duties

Management

General Manager: Coordinates all station activities, overseeing other department managers, with direct responsibility for financial, legal & marketing matters. Market Managers oversee multiple station clusters.

Program Director: Coordinates all programming elements, from music to news/sports to station promotion.

Sales Manager: Directs the advertising sales department. In large radio organizations, there may be several sales managers focusing on Local Sales, National Sales and General Sales management.

News Director: Supervising reporters and anchors in news-intensive radio operations. In music-intensive stations, the ND is often the only news employee.

Business Manager: Supervises all office functions and employees.

April 19, 2007. WZWW was a registered exhibitor at the 2007 Clearfield County Employment & Business Expo at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds in Clearfield, PA. General Manager Michael McGough represented WZWW and spoke to people interested in broadcasting as a career.

May 1, 2, & 3, 2007. First Media Management Conference , St. Michaels, MD. GM Michael McGough attended meetings where EEO issues were discussed in detail.

February 21, 2008. WZWW GM Michael McGough was a featured panelist at the Penn State University College of Communications Advanced Resume Workshop. Between 50 and 60 students participated. Mr. McGough consulted individual students on career opportunities in broadcasting.

WZWW General Manager Michael McGough is an instructor of Communications at Penn State University-University Park. During this period he taught Communications 384, Broadcast Sales & Promotion (Spring 2007 and Fall 2007).

WZWW operates a sanctioned Internship Program with Penn State University in consultation with Mr. Robert Martin, Assistant Dean for Internships & Career Placement for the College of Communications. During this period, WZWW provided internships for eight students in areas of sales (4), promotion (1), news (1) and programming (2).

In January 2008, WZWW General Manager Michael McGough was guest lecturer for Career Day at Penns Valley High School, Milheim, PA. Mr. McGough addressed high school students on career opportunities in broadcasting.

March 17, 18 & 19, 2008. First Media Management Conference, Ocean City, MD. WZWW GM Michael McGough attended meetings where EEO issues were discussed in detail.

March 28, 2008. WZWW was a registered exhibitor at the Penn State University College of Communications Job Expo at the Hetzel Union Building on the Penn State-University Park campus. WZWW was represented by GM Michael McGough. Our exhibit provided information on careers in broadcasting, career opportunities with First Media Radio, LLC, and a profile of WZWW. The Job Expo was attended by approximately 500 students. The Penn State College of Communications at University Park is America's largest accredited college of communications.
